CrossFit Level 1 trainer, 2019
BA: Biology; Minor: Exercise Science, CMU 2022
I am Colorado born and raised. I did gymnastics until high school where I transitioned to a coach and made the varsity cheer team. I then joined the Marine Corps serving 5 years as a helicopter mechanic during which time I had my daughter. We moved back to Colorado where I attended CMU.
I always enjoyed exercise and was amazed by what the body could do. My sister brought me to a boot camp program and I fell in love with the constant challenge and the community. Eventually, I achieved the goal of becoming CFL-1 certified which fueled my love for CrossFit as well as fitness and coaching. I came to CrossFit Vex in 2021 where every day I am inspired by fellow members and coaches every day.
No matter if it’s your first day or you started out with Glassman in his garage there is a place at Vex for
everyone.
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, 2014 & 2022
ISSA Certified Personal Trainer USAW Level 1 2015
Originally from Houston, I’ve lived in Chicago, Boulder, Romania, Denver and since 2020 I’ve called Grand Junction home. From couch to Crossfit is how I think about my Crossfit journey. With little fitness experience, I walked into a Crossfit gym in January of 2013 intimidated by all of the fit people around me, the barbells, the gymnastics skills, the cardio. My first class was challenging and humbling, people twice my age moving faster, getting way more reps in. But I am the kind of person that appreciates a challenge so I kept coming back again and again….getting stronger and fitter and more confident. In May of 2014, I decided to get my Level 1 to learn more about Crossfit. In 2015, I took a Crossfit Coaching intensive internship at Crossfit LoDo in Denver and began coaching thereafter. I love seeing people walk into the gym and accomplish something that they never thought they would: a box jump, PRing a lift, completing a workout. Crossfit is more than just fitness. It’s a community. It’s a way to prove to yourself you can do more. No other fitness type has kept my interest for more than a decade.
