BA: Biology; Minor: Exercise Science, CMU 2022

ABOUT ME

I am Colorado born and raised. I did gymnastics until high school where I transitioned to a coach and made the varsity cheer team. I then joined the Marine Corps serving 5 years as a helicopter mechanic during which time I had my daughter. We moved back to Colorado where I attended CMU.
I always enjoyed exercise and was amazed by what the body could do. My sister brought me to a boot camp program and I fell in love with the constant challenge and the community. Eventually, I achieved the goal of becoming CFL-1 certified which fueled my love for CrossFit as well as fitness and coaching. I came to CrossFit Vex in 2021 where every day I am inspired by fellow members and coaches every day.
No matter if it’s your first day or you started out with Glassman in his garage there is a place at Vex for
everyone.

ETHAN MYERS

COACH

Hi! My name is Ethan and I am originally from Littleton, Colorado. I am currently a senior at CMU and will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in the fall of 2022.

Aside from CrossFit, I enjoy playing basketball, golfing, snowboarding, and many other outdoor activities. I also love traveling and spent a semester studying abroad in England.

I started CrossFit in January, 2021 and have been hooked ever since. I enjoy every aspect of it and aspire to compete at the highest level one day. In addition to training and competing, I’ve grown to love coaching as well. Prior to starting CrossFit, I coached at a sports performance facility in Denver then continued to intern at Vex last summer. Through those experiences, I’ve found a lot of enjoyment from working with athletes, programming, and applying different training principles to help individuals succeed! I am very excited to apply my knowledge to help you all achieve your goals!

KENDRA DIXION

COACH

Hi! I’m Kendra, and I’m a Grand Junction native. Previous to CrossFit, I was a global gym go-er until one of my friends introduced me to CrossFit. I was hesitant and it took her almost 6 months of convincing, but after my 1st class I was hooked. I knew after just a few months of attending that I wanted to learn everything I could, and eventually become a coach. I wanted to help people feel great about themselves and achieve goals both mentally and physically. I truly believe there’s no better setting for this than a great community with loving coach and staff support, and I found all of that at Vex! While vex wasn’t my first CrossFit gym, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

I’m a graduate from CMU and occasionally work as a substitute teacher for D51 schools. My faith and my family are the backbone of who I am. I believe that if everyone pitched in and spread love wherever they go, the world would be an amazing place…. And my faith reminds me to love everyone no matter what season of life they’re in.

When I’m not substituting or chasing my kids around, I’m at the gym or volunteering around Mesa County. I’ve held many roles as a volunteer, and I love every minute of it… it’s fair to say that helping people is my passion. I love assisting other people in achieving their goals; fitness, wellness, spiritual, business, personal – whatever it may be. I’ll be the LOUDEST voice in the crowd cheering you on and pushing you forward. I’m so excited for this opportunity and I can’t wait to see where God takes me with it.

ISSA Certified Personal Trainer USAW Level 1 2015

ABOUT ME

Originally from Houston, I’ve lived in Chicago, Boulder, Romania, Denver and since 2020 I’ve called Grand Junction home. From couch to Crossfit is how I think about my Crossfit journey. With little fitness experience, I walked into a Crossfit gym in January of 2013 intimidated by all of the fit people around me, the barbells, the gymnastics skills, the cardio. My first class was challenging and humbling, people twice my age moving faster, getting way more reps in. But I am the kind of person that appreciates a challenge so I kept coming back again and again….getting stronger and fitter and more confident. In May of 2014, I decided to get my Level 1 to learn more about Crossfit. In 2015, I took a Crossfit Coaching intensive internship at Crossfit LoDo in Denver and began coaching thereafter. I love seeing people walk into the gym and accomplish something that they never thought they would: a box jump, PRing a lift, completing a workout. Crossfit is more than just fitness. It’s a community. It’s a way to prove to yourself you can do more. No other fitness type has kept my interest for more than a decade.

Certified Nursing Aide

BA, Sports Management [Loras College]

ABOUT ME

Hey everyone, I am Butch Cassidy. I am a brand new coach with lots of interest in the fitness world. I also work as a Physical Therapy Aide here in Grand Junction. Before that I was an Event Producer for IRONMAN triathlon. I have played sports my whole life. I have played baseball and football since I was a little kid. I continued to play both through high school and then just football through college. After I left college I really got into boxing and competitive slow pitch softball. I fell in love with CrossFit later in my life after moving to Grand Junction in 2015. I started really getting serious with CrossFit at the beginning of the pandemic. Before that I would try and come on most days my schedule would allow, but with no work I had no excuses. I really like trying to better myself in form and technique before going up in weight. This makes me want to coach athletes the same way. I am learning all while you are learning. My experience in coaching might be limited but I put in 110% with every class and person I coach. I have two amazing Boxers (Creed and Bobo) and hope everyone gets to meet them. My wife will even be a trooper and come to the classes I coach. In my time outside of the gym and work, I love to play any outdoor sport including any backyard games. I can be competitive at times but everything is in all good fun.

BRIDGER SINGER

COACH

ABOUT ME

My name is Bridger Singer. I have a 3 year old son and a brand new baby girl with my wife. I work full time as a clinical pharmacist at St. Mary’s Hospital. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and all other outdoor activities.

I have always enjoyed staying active and challenging myself every day. CrossFit became a great avenue for me to find new strength, gymnastics, and cardio movements in order to keep my workouts fun and varied to get into better shape for hunting season. I decided to get my CrossFit Level 1 training when my young son started to show interest in working out with my wife and I. I hope to one day get my kids course certification so I can better understand how to coach young adults and instill a love for fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

I look forward to getting to know you and helping you as a coach.

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Sharon Kemp. I am a native of Grand Junction and started my CrossFit journey 7 years ago. I am married and have three children, the youngest of which keeps me busy with his senior year of high school sports. Outside of the gym I am a Certified Veterinary Technician. JON ROGERS

COACH

CrossFit Level 2 Trainer

CPR BLS/First Aid Certified

BA, Exercise Science, Colorado Mesa University

ABOUT ME

Hello! I am Jonathan (Jon) Rogers. Born and raised here in Colorado! I have lived all over the country though, from Nebraska to Houston Texas. I am a current student attending CMU with the intent to graduate in the spring of 2022 with a bachelor’s in exercise science.

I have been a part of the Crossfit community for a little over 5 years now, with at least 2 years of coaching under my belt. I was first asked if I wanted to start coaching by a peer a long time ago and my initial thought was “no way could I coach, I wouldn’t even know where to start!” Fast-forward to today and I love coaching more than almost anything else. Watching people meet their goals, overcome their obstacles and work together to develop a strong work ethic and become better people is why I love to coach. I want to help be a part of the movement here in America that reverses our current state of chronic obesity and disease that is running rampant through our country, and I think Crossfit is the tool that is going to do it.

I also love the competitive side of Crossfit- with goals to participate in the Crossfit games someday- I enjoy anything dealing with training strategy, efficiency building, and technique. I am always down to throw down and get fit. I am married to my wonderful wife Allie and “father” to a sporadic Border Collie named Neo. My faith defines who I am and the Bible has developed my outline for what it means to be a leader, man, husband, and athlete and will continue to do so till the day I die. Anything that I have learned in my time during Crossfit I want to impart to you through coaching, to make you fitter, faster, and stronger!

KERSEE CAMP

OWNER & FINANCE

ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Kersee Camp, co-owner of CrossFit Vex. I was born and raised in good ol’ Palisade, CO and graduated from PHS in 2007. From there, I went to CMU to get some college “experiences” where I soon learned it was not the route I wanted to take. I then decided to get my EMT-B and worked as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT for about a year before I started to have kids – two rambunctious, feisty, and loving boys.

With several different experiences from owning a small business in Palisade, to farming peaches, I have landed in a career that I absolutely love at our local Mesa County School District in intervention. I also have the privilege of keeping the gym running on the back end of things – you will not see me coaching – it’s not my forte. I leave that to the professionals! CrossFit Vex became a part of my (almost) everyday routine in May of 2019 when my husband moved here after retiring from the Army. Like most, I was absolutely terrified to step into unknown territory, let alone doing CrossFit for the first time ever. Little did I know, this place would become my second home and the people would be my family. One of the best decisions I have ever made! Robert and I then had the opportunity to become co-owners in March of 2020.

Outside of the work realm, I love to travel and be outdoors. Hiking, fishing, snowboarding, etc. All about the adventure! It is not in my DNA to just “sit” and I barely know the meaning of “relax.” There is ALWAYS something to do. I have the best husband and four amazing kiddos. Dogs are my favorite. Faith is my priority.
